How do I take VAT out of a price?

When your VAT taxable turnover goes over £90,000 in any rolling 12 months, or you expect it to in the next 30 days. You can register voluntarily below that.

Which building work has 5% or 0% VAT?
Some energy-saving installations, such as insulation and heat pumps in homes, are 0% until 2027. Some conversions and renovations of empty homes are 5%. New-build homes are usually 0%. Check HMRC's guidance for the job.
